Autodesk Products

Computer Aided Design allows Engineers, Architects, Designers and Technicians to create drawings with speed, efficiency and accuracy.

Traditionally many CAD users created their designs on drawing boards using pen and paper and later migrating to their first CAD stations with digitising tablets. Nowadays CAD software such as many of the Autodesk products not only allows detailing on the screen, but designing real time as a 3D working model.

Design Collaboration is one of the new buzzwords in the technology design industry. Rather than printing many companies wisely use viewing and publishing technology incorporated into their CAD Systems. This will allow drawings to be marked up and reviewed electronically, thus making sure that all data and changes are fully captured and recorded.

CAD software is developing all the time and a classic example of this is proven in a productivity case study that Autodesk carried out on a sample of CAD users.

The sample assessed AutoCAD 2000/2000i and 2002 users and determined that if they used AutoCAD 2004/2005 they could save 40-70% working CAD time for some fundamental tasks. So even having different releases can dramatically change productivity of your users provided they have the appropriate software, hardware and training.

Many people think that all CAD systems are the same, but this is not the case. In actual fact they will all have a different interface, function and file format. With Pentagon Solutions experience, we find that all our customers tend to have at least one Autodesk product on their site, for the bottom line is that many users prefer the Autodesk product for final drawing creation and manipulation.

If you are thinking of upgrading, getting started on CAD or not sure that you are maximising your current CAD system, then contact Pentagon Solutions for expert specialist advice.
